Phyllis A. Duggan Shamblin

Phyllis Duggan Shamblin, 77, of Delano and formerly of Charleston passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 at her home. She was retired from J.H. Kelman Co. Phyllis was an avid seamstress; she enjoyed making clothes for her family, later making her daughters and granddaughters wedding gowns. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Charleston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Houston “Cotton” Shamblin; parents, Herman and Myrtle Robinson Duggan; brothers, Doug Duggan, Larry Duggan, and son-in-law, Lynn Davis.

Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Shamblin Davis of Delano, Joy Gaston (Mark) of Calhoun, and Laura Reynolds (Wayne) of Benton; grandchildren: Jennifer and Greg Cross of Cleveland, Valerie and Nathan Killian of Charleston, Alicia and Matt Sloan of Etowah, Justin Reynolds of Benton, Jessica and Matt Russell of Charleston, and Bruce Gaston of Lenior, NC; great grandchildren: Madison Killian, Dylan Killian, Warren Cross, Savannah Russell, Gage Russell, Zain Russell, Shelby Russell, Rylee Russell, Cole Russell, Taylor Sloan, Elizabeth Sloan, Isabella Sloan, and Bobbyray Gaston; brothers, David Duggan (Gail) of Calhoun, and John Duggan (Debra) of Cleveland; sisters, Kathy Duggan of Charleston, Janet Newport (Larry) of Charleston , and Robin Blankenship (Steve) of Calhoun; sisters-in-law, Ann Duggan of Cleveland and Mary Ann Duggan of Charleston; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 20, 2019 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Kenny Isbell officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with nephews serving as pallbearers.

Her family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
