Golda M. Pitts, 81, of Charleston and formerly of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the home of her son. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker and was a 1955 graduate of Knox Young High School in Knoxville.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Fred J. Pitts; parents, Oliver and Ollie Sprouse and six brothers.
Survivors include her son Gary Pitts and wife, Sandra of Charleston; two grandchildren, Melissa Thompson and fiancée, Josh Kelly of Cleveland and Heather Ellis and Cris Guzman of Summerville, GA; four great-grandchildren, Chandler Guthrie, Ayda Guthrie, Camdyn Kilgore and Danika Birchfield; sister, Helen Hale and husband, Don of Knoxville and several nieces and nephews and one special nephew, John Williams of Knoxville.
The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2019 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph and Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Joe Brooks officiating. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2018 in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Her family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
