Thelma Ozel Underwood

Thelma Ozel Underwood, 64, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018.  She was a seamstress with Hardwick Clothes and was of the Church of God faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Lena Marie Vines Smith; and husband, Howard Bennett Underwood, Sr., brother, Ement Smith; grandparents, Oscar and Annie Smith; and brother-in-law, Eddie Cross.

Survivors include her son, Howard Bennett Underwood, Jr. (Angie) of Cleveland; daughters, Donna R. Chambers (John) of Cleveland and Sharon D. Holmes (Michael) of Benton; ten grandchildren, Justin T. Underwood (Brianna) of Old Fort, Jerrica N. Underwood (Chris), Chelsea A. Underwood, Andrew D. Underwood, Austin T. Underwood, Mattie Chambers, Tiffany Norris, Andrew Holmes and Joshua Holmes, all of Cleveland and Lori Myers (Chris) of Birchwood; eight great grandchildren; brother, George Smith (Sue) of Cleveland; sisters, Glenda Cross of Cleveland and Caressa Stinnett (John) and Rebecca Stinnett (Carl), all of Polk County; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and special life friends, Tracey M. Lewallen and Joann Black.

The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2018 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Don Harris and the Reverend Ron Bard officiating.  The interment will follow in New Friendship Cemetery in Chatata Valley.

Her family will receive friends from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
