Marvin E. Davis, 82, of Cleveland, passed away Monday, September 3, 2018. He was a retired residential building contractor. Marvin was a veteran of the United States Army. He was an honest man and if he told you something it was to the best of his knowledge. He loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He loved and was very proud of his family and expected the best of them. Marvin was so proud of his grandchildren, Jonathan, Lyndsy, Cali and Kyle and the thing that made him smile the most was his great granddaughter, Stella Grace. He loved to hold her and watch her jump and learn to crawl. He was so glad she was born before his death.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mae Belle Walls Davis; sister, Mozelle Davis Sluder; brother-in-law, Gordon Sluder; and two nieces, Denise Sluder and Shirley Sluder Dillard.
Survivors include his wife, Cordie Evans Davis of Cleveland; sons, Gregory Eugene Davis and wife, Betty of Austin, TX and Gary Evan Davis and wife, Rhonda of Cleveland; grandchildren, Kyle Davis and Cali Davis, both of Austin, Jonathan Davis of Cleveland and Lyndsy Davis Morgan and husband, Ty of Norfolk, VA; great granddaughter, Stella Grace Marie Morgan; and nephew, David Sluder and wife, Dee of Chatsworth, GA.
The funeral will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2018 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Sam Dillard officiating. The interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
His family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
