Dean Lee “Lynn” Hyberger, 86, of Cleveland, passed away peacefully Friday, May 4, 2018 surrounded by her four loving daughters. From her humble roots of being a coal miner’s daughter, she was proud of her Scottish roots from the Giles clan. She was co owner along with her husband Franklin, of Star Printing Company. Her home congregation was East Side church of Christ, but being a minister’s wife she served in McCaysville Ga, Spring Creek, and Patty churches of Christ for many years. When the Oak Grove Ruritan Club expanded to include women, she gladly joined to serve with her husband Franklin, who was a charter member.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Franklin Hyberger, parents Frank Lee Giles and Sarah Elizabeth Venable Higginbotham.
Survivors include her four daughters Leslie Hyberger of Hixson, Valerie Hyberger, Allison (Joe) Hyberger Chancey, and Melissa Hyberger, all of Cleveland. Grandchildren Meredith and Jeremy Dean, Matthew and Heidi McKeown, Chad Cameron, Bryan and Adrienne Chancey, Toby and Jessica Williams, Chris Chancey and Bonnie Elice Phillips. Eight great grandchildren, cousins Barbara Petrie, Sandy Giles, and Pam Giles, nephews Cory and Andy Hyberger, and special family friend Reine Hinkleman.
The funeral will be Tuesday May 8, 2018 at 7:00pm at the East Side church of Christ with Minister Jeff Archery officiating.
Her family will receive friends from 5:00p.m. - 7:00p.m on Tuesday May 8, 2018 at the church. Interment will be Wednesday May 9, 2018 at 11:00a.m in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens; a playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.
