Dorothy “Dottie” Jones Owen, 92, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018. She and her late husband, Jack ran a small grocery store called Jack Owens Grocery on Gaut Street from the late 1940’s until they retired in 1988. After that they spent their time taking family trips to Walt Disney World, Branson, MO and to many Battalion Tank Destroyer reunions. Dottie was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church where her great grandfather was a charter member.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Owen; parents, William Alvin Jones and Zylphia Ann Hudson Jones; and two brothers, R. L. Jones and Chester Jones.
Survivors include her daughter, Misty Eubank and husband, Charles of Cleveland; three grandchildren, Jason Crowe and wife, Amanda of Decatur and Ashley Eaton and husband, Steven and Chase Eubank, all of Cleveland; seven great grandchildren, Trace Eaton, Ayden Eaton, Resner Eaton, Lochlan Eaton, Emilee Perry, Jackson Crowe and Alex Gann; nephew, Terry Jones; and niece, Donna Faye Adams.
The funeral will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Richard McKeehan officiating. A private graveside service will be held on Friday at Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery with Jason Crowe, Chase Eubank, Steven Eaton, Dylan Mantooth, Trace Eaton and Ayden Eaton serving as pallbearers.
Her family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
