Sierra Mackenzie Underwood

Sierra Mackenzie Underwood, 15, of Cleveland, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at her home.  She was very musical and played the flute and percussion. She attended Lake Forest Middle School where she was on the honor roll and a member of the Beta Club, but was already excited about going to Bradley Central High School to carry on her love of school and music.  She was a true child of God and her mission was to always help others. Sierra loved to do volunteer work. She organized blood drives for other pediatric patients. She had a heart of gold and did a 5K for causes to support others.  Sierra was a member of Girls on the Run at her school. She was a great animal lover and very passionate about keeping our earth clean.  Sierra was loved very much by so many people in the community and her family.        
    

Survivors include her parents, Shawn and Ronda Kusek Underwood; sister, Kristin Underwood; grandfather, Charles Underwood; aunts, Junebetty (Caleb) Abbott, Sarah (Swan) Wells and Jaimie (Michael) Adams; uncle, Gino D’Andrea; and several cousins.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Westwood Baptist Church with Paul Davis and Jim Caywood officiating. There will be special music by Leah Hughes, Stephen Johnston, Mark Dortwegt and Tara Snider.  Interment will follow in Michigan Avenue Baptist Church Cemetery with Spencer Cranfield, Cole Cochran, Jayce Hargraves, Jeremy Monger, Anthony Underwood and Austin Rutherford serving as pallbearers.

Her family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday at Fike Randolph & Son Funeral Home.
