Charles (Chuck) R. Leveille, 93, formerly of Cleveland, peacefully passed away February 16, 2018 surrounded by his family in Dawsonville, GA. One of the 13 children born to Orza and Joseph Leveille, he lived his childhood in the upper peninsula of Michigan. At age 19, Chuck joined the WWII war effort with three of his brothers where he served his country in the Asiatic/Pacific area Campaign on the Acorn 15 mine sweeper. He received the American Area Campaign Medal, the WWII Victory Medal and the Medal One Star for his service.
Upon completing his service to his country, Chuck began a career in the paper manufacturing industry in Texas and Alabama ultimately devoting twenty-five years to the Bowaters Paper Manufacturing Company in Calhoun, TN. He raised his family of seven children in Cleveland, TN and was a founding member of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church.
Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Ruth Besner, his parents and son, Richard Braden.
He is survived by his sisters, Emilie Mae Labrasseur and Mary Ann Burton; his brother, Byron Leveille and his children, William, Robert, Timothy, Cindy, Thomas and Charles; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church with Father Mike Nolan officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors.
