Kenneth Ray Tarpley, Sr., 85, of Cleveland passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 at a healthcare facility in Knoxville. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
He was formerly a sales person at the Cleveland Daily Banner for 16 years. Mr. Tarpley was later involved in real estate and commercial sign sales.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Lynn Tarpley; parents, Arnold and Edith Tarpley; sisters, Inez Jones and Marlene Hall; and brother, Warren Tarpley.
Survivors include his children, Connie Tarpley of Key West, Florida and Ken Tarpley Jr. and wife, Donna of Knoxville; four grandchildren, Caleb Tarpley of Chattanooga, Aaron Tarpley of Knoxville, Rebekkah Tarpley of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Autumn Tarpley of Knoxville; great grandchild, Kyrie Tarpley; sister, Hazel Strassburg (Jim) of Cleveland; brother, David Tarpley (Pat) of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Jeannine Tarpley of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2018 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Philip Caines officiating. Private interment will be held on Monday in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.
His family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
