Earl Paul Daugherty, 87, of Cleveland, passed away Monday morning after a long and difficult battle with Dementia. He was a member of the South Cleveland Church of God where he served for many years as the Church Trustee. Originally from Kentucky, he joined the army and served in the Korean War Effort and was awarded a purple heart for his bravery. He worked for the L&N Railroad and retired in 1978 and moved to Cleveland in 1981 with his family. He was a hard working man who dedicated his life to helping others. One thing he was known for was his gardening and visiting ministry to the sick and shut in. He was always there for anyone who needed him. He was a loving husband and was devoted to his five children in every way possible. He was a simple man with simple tastes and would have done anything for his family. He believed in this country and supported the disabled American Veterans fund and was the truest definition of hero to us.
