Mary Ann Boyd, 88, received her ultimate healing from Alzheimer’s when she entered the portals of heaven on Sunday afternoon, December 31, 2017. She was a member of Waterville Baptist Church, where she was an active member of the Silver Seniors. Her and her husband served as camp host at Cumberland Mt. State Park for sixteen years until her health failed her. She had a true love for camping and enjoyed meeting new people. Mrs. Boyd and her husband John also served with Disaster Relief.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Victoria Kibler; and sister, Jane Moseley.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 66 years, John L. Boyd of Cleveland; daughters, Betty Davis(Larry), Vickie Ownby(Richard) all of Cleveland, Sylvia Calfee(Ray) of Charleston, and Joan Ownby(Tony) of Cleveland; grandchildren: Melissa Freeman(Josh), Amy Cramer(Josh), Orvil Ownby of Knoxville, Matthew Ownby, Austin Calfee(Kayla) of Charleston, Anita Calfee of Riceville, Dawn Wilson(Dan) of Knoxville, and David Cartwright of Chicago, IL; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Waterville Baptist Church with the Reverend Allan Lovelace and Reverend Joe Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery with Richard Ownby, Ray Calfee, Larry Davis, Tony Ownby, Ron Chastain, and Tracey Hancock serving as pallbearers. Charlie Howard will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Her family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the church prior to the service.
