Bernice Harris, 85, of Cleveland passed away Friday, November 24, 2017 at the family residence. Mrs. Harris was of the Baptist faith having been baptized at Thompson Springs Baptist Church many years ago; later in life she attended Hopewell Church of God.
Mrs. Harris was retired from Maytag Corporation and prior to her employment with Maytag she was employed by American Uniform.
Her hobbies included quilting, and working in her yard. Her love of animals was her lifelong enjoyment. She loved all animals but especially her house dogs and cats. She was a very compassionate person who loved to put others needs before her own. Her family was very important to her and she loved each and every one of them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Ina Minnis Thompson; first husband, Charles Moore; siblings: Cecil Thompson, Alvin Thompson, Glenn Thompson, Fredrick Thompson, Betty Brown, Jane Harris, and infant twin sister, Jenice Thompson.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Harris of Cleveland; sister, Robbie Dean Frazier of Cleveland; brothers, Willard Thompson (Ruth) of Cleveland, and Billy Joe Thompson (Wanda) of Dayton; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Monday, November 27, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in Fort Hill Cemetery with Minister Steve Hall officiating. Mark Thompson, Randy Harris, Jimmy Jordan, George Kyle, Roger Thompson, and Jackie Burrell will serve as pallbearers.
