Gerald S. "Jerry" Sharpe

Gerald S. “Jerry” Sharpe, 92, of Cleveland passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017 at his residence. He was a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church.

Mr. Sharpe was born in Winnipeg Manitoba, Canada and was reared in Pine Falls Manitoba. He and his wife moved to Cleveland in 1954 where he became part of Bowater Corporation for the next 31 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and an avid golfer. He was a veteran of the Canadian Navy serving in WWII.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward George and Mae V. Sharpe; son, Edward Gerald Sharpe who lost his life in action in Vietnam in 1967; and granddaughter, Meghan Rae Sharpe.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Leah M. Sharpe of Cleveland; sons, Brian Sharpe (Naomi) and Ron Sharpe all of Cleveland, and Jerry Sharpe (Terry) of Columbus, MS; grandchildren, Jason Sharpe (Christina) of Pulaski, TN, Justin Sharpe (Tara) of Fenton, MI, Benjamin Sharpe of Columbus, MS, Kristy Boyd (Chad) of Denver, CO, and Shannen Sharpe of Cleveland; five great grandchildren; sisters, Eileen Bergman of Vancouver, British Columbia and Hope O`Reagan of San Francisco, CA; brothers, David Sharpe of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Bill Sharpe of Pine Falls, Manitoba; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2017 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Sharpe, Pastor Justin Sharpe and Pastor Mary Parson officiating.

His family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
