Wayne G. Pippenger, 87, of Cleveland passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 at his home. He was a dedicated and faithful member of Union Grove Church of Christ for 50 years where he taught Bible school and served as Deacon and Treasurer.
Wayne was in building material sales for thirty years. He was retired from the US Army, US Air Force and the TN National Guard with 26 1/2 years of service as First LT.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Smith Pippenger; parents, Walter Lee and Tennie Mae Kinser Pippenger; sisters, Stella Mae Hayth, and Willene Glaze; brothers, Tom Pippenger, Leroy Pippenger, Paul Pippenger, Lake Pippenger, Ronald Pippenger and Clyde Pippenger.
Survivors include his sons, Terry Pippenger (Andra) and Kenneth Pippenger all of Cleveland; granddaughter, Danica Pippenger; greatgrandson, Jackson Hanes; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Minister Ted Gobble and Minister Steve Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Union Grove Church of Christ Cemetery with Military Honors. Ronnie Flowers, David Triplett, Tracy Sneed, Greg Davis, Clyde Brewer and Jim Randolph will serve as pallbearers. Bill Flowers, Troy Richmond, James Kyle, Charles Cartwright and Eugene McCracken will serve as honorary pallbearers.
His family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
