Melba “Jean” May, 85, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017 at her son’s home. She retired from Charleston Hosiery after 35 years of service and then worked at Goodwill for ten years where everyone called her “Granny” May. She was a member of Prospect United Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James B. and Lillie Cleo Triplett Craigo; husband, Glenn T. May; daughter, Debbie May Cross; brother, Frank Craigo; and sisters, Pauline Craigo, Edith Scoggins, Lois Beaty and Cricket Moore.
Survivors include her three children, Steve May, Randy May and Glenda (Johnny) Kelley, all of Cleveland; son-in-law, Roger Cross of Cleveland; four grandchildren, Brian (April) Kelley, Jeff (Kristy) Kelley, Michelle Keefer and Brittany (Travis) Pack; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Melton and Pastor Gary Sears officiating. Interment will follow in Earls Cemetery with Roger Cross, Brian Kelley, Thaxton Kelley, Jeff Kelley, Nathaniel Kelley and Chandler Kelley serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
Her family will receive friends from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
