Ann Goins

May 25, 1929 — March 12, 2017

Ann Goins, 87, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017 at her residence.  She was born and raised in Reliance.  Ann was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church.  She was an avid gardener and love working with her flowers.  She was an excellent seamstress who enjoyed sewing and making things for her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry “Press” and Daisy Duggan Thompson; brother, Loman Thompson; and sisters, Dorothy Duckett, Jo Bates and Trulah Taylor.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Goins of Cleveland; son, Charles Eddie Goins and wife, Darlene  of Charleston; grandchildren, John Goins and wife, Christy, Jeremy Goins and wife, Tabitha and Gayle Cross and husband, Greg, all of Charleston; four great grandchildren, Kayla Cross, Jake Cross, Mallory Goins and Molly Goins; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Chilcutt Cemetery with the Reverend Harrill Millsaps officiating.   John Goins, Jeremy Goins, Greg Cross, Jake Cross, Britt Chastain, Bobby Goins, and Shaun Hillman will serve as pallbearers.

Her family would like to give a special thanks to her caretaker, Helen Longino for her love, compassion and tenderness.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s group at Love Nancy, 697 Blythewood Road SW, Cleveland, TN  37311.
