Barbara Gail Howard, 68, of Cleveland, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 at her home surrounded by her children. She was a devoted and caring mother who loved being with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Gail loved to be outdoors, had a passion for reading books and enjoyed traveling. She had a smile that would light up the room; all who knew her loved her. She was a very giving person who always put her family first and they loved her deeply. Gail was a hard worker who owned and operated Jerry’s Used Cars and Prestige Auto Brokers for 21 years. She was of the Baptist faith. She will forever be missed, but has gained her wings and is now flying high with our Lord and Savior.
She was preceded in death by her father, Marcus Daniel; two sisters, Sheila Daniel and Carol Cross; and brother-in-law, Charles Sherlin.
Survivors include her mother, Mildred Daniel of Cleveland; two sons, Byron Toomey and wife, Christine and Michael Toomey and wife, Kim, all of Calhoun; daughter, Callie Lawson and husband, Tyler of Cleveland; stepson, Jay Howard of Cleveland; grandchildren, Megan and Caleb Toomey, Devin and Morgan Howard and Jenna Kate and Haden Lawson; brother, Stoney Daniel and wife, May of Cleveland; sisters, Dee Sherlin and Karen Narramore and husband, Charlie, all of Cleveland and Donna Coe and husband, David of Ten Mile; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2017 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with her cousins, Tony Keith and Tommy Keith officiating. The interment will follow in Candies Creek Cemetery with Caleb Toomey, Colby Johnson, Danny Hopkins, Hank Wilson, Wyatt Wilson, Scott Johnson and Devin Howard serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
Her family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
