Lloyd Joseph Lee Cofer, Jr., 68, of Georgetown, left his earthly home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, January 31, 2017. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Lloyd was a faithful member of Oak Grove Church of God where he praised and worshipped the Lord through his music ministry for over 40 years.
He was a successful owner/operator of Cofer Trucking almost 30 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Some of his greatest joys were spending time with his family, playing the guitar and working. In his younger years he enjoyed coon hunting.
He was the son of the late Loyd Cofer, Sr. and Mary Lennie Jane Shahan Cofer.
Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Sharon Darlene Harden Cofer; two sons, Nathan Cofer and wife, Holly and Ben Cofer, all of Cleveland; daughter, Jana Edwards and husband, Eric of Cleveland; five grandchildren, Brooklyn, Bailey, Raylee, Kate and Jack; sister, LaVonne C. Whitaker of Cleveland; brother, Kenneth R. Cofer and wife, Debbie of Georgetown; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Rose officiating. The interment will follow in McInturff Cemetery with military honors. Andy Caldwell, Doug Caldwell, Danny Joe Caldwell, David Caldwell, Jamie Hickman and Dee Evans will serve as pallbearers. Zendall “Noney” Cofer will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
His family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
