Thursie Marie Wilkinson

Thursie Marie Wilkinson, 95, a resident of Cleveland passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and worked with dedication for many years in the ministry of her husband in spreading the Gospel of Christ.  Thursie was a member of Union Grove Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Mettie A. Skelton Shannon; six brothers: Tom Shannon, Walter Shannon, Johnny Shannon Boyd Shannon, Winfred Shannon and Sed Shannon; and one sister, Clara Huskey.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, William “Bill” Wilkinson of Cleveland; daughter, Janice Stephenson and husband Mark of Cleveland; one grandson, Jacob Stephenson of Cleveland; one sister, Edith Morrow of Delano; four sisters-in-law: Mardell Wilkinson, Betty Taylor, Ruth Ann Shannon and Ada Wilkinson; one brother-in-law, Eugene Duggan; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2016,  in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Minister Doyle Parton and Minister James Watkins officiating.  Interment will follow in Union Grove Church of Christ Cemetery with Arlie Shannon, Jerry Shannon, Kim Randolph, Eugene McCracken, Tim McCracken and Lathan Lancaster serving as pallbearers.

Her family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. Monday, October 10, 2016, at the funeral home.
