Debbie May Cross, 57, lifelong resident of Bradley County passed away Sunday evening, September 18, 2016 at her home. She was a member of Prospect United Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She was employed with the Bradley County Farm Bureau for 39 years where she served as Farm Bureau Office Manager. Debbie was a 20 year cancer survivor. Although in pain and suffering from aggressive treatment for many years, she never complained and very seldom ever missed any work. She was active in Relay for Life for many years. All of her customers and co-workers respected and loved her. Debbie was inducted into the Bradley County Agricultural Hall of Fame in 2008.
She was preceded in death by her father, Glenn T. May.
Survivors include her husband, Roger Cross of Cleveland; daughter, Brittany Hair of Cleveland; mother, Jean “Granny” May of Cleveland; grandchildren, Aubrey Hair and Hayden Hair both of Cleveland; sister, Glenda (Johnny) Kelley of Cleveland; brothers, Steve May and Randy May both of Cleveland; brother-in-law, David Cross (Theresa) of Cleveland; special lifelong friend, April Hickman of Cleveland; niece, Michelle Keefer of Utah; two nephews, Brian and Jeff Kelley both of Cleveland.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2016 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Melton officiating. Interment will follow in Earls Cemetery with Porky Davis, Keith Rominger, Brian Kelley, Jeff Kelley, Thaxton Kelley, Nathaniel Kelley and Chandler Kelley serving as pallbearers. Nitro Soft Ball Team, Ricky Hudson and Board Members of Bradley County Farm Bureau will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Her family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
