William R. “Bill” Carroll, 89, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016 at his home. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He owned and operated Bill’s Radio & TV for many years and later 10-4 Radio Shop. Bill was a member of Cleveland Citizens Band Radio Club. He attended Prospect Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Douglas Carroll; parents, Lewis Benjamin Carroll and Ella Mae Ward Carroll; son, William Robert Carroll, Jr.; brother, Lewis Benjamin Carroll, Jr.; sister, Nancy Joann Carroll Spell; and brothers-in-law, John Paul Douglas and Tommy Barnhart.
Survivors include his children, Beverly Ann Carroll and Thomas Michael Carroll and wife, Brenda, all of Cleveland; four grandchildren, Michele McNabb and husband Marty and Rebecca Maddox and husband, Bryan, all of Cleveland, Steven Carroll of Knoxville and Lauren Carroll of Durango, CO; four great grandchildren, Micayla Maddox, Logan Maddox, Mia McNabb and Holly Maddox; brother, Jerry “Butch” Gregg, and “Blood Brother” Corky Scott, both of Cleveland; sisters-in-law and husbands, Easter Barnhart, Gladys and James Forgey and Betty and Don Alley, all of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 22, 2016 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Timothy Gann officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
His family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
