Billie M. Lawson, 80, of Cleveland passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 at a local hospital. She was a charter member of Maple Street Baptist Church but was attending Hopewell Baptist Church. Billie was employed with Bradley County in the county executive’s office and formerly with the city of Cleveland for a total of 38 years of service. She enjoyed designing greeting cards and RV traveling. Billie loved flowers and birds.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd (Buster) and Alice Faw Miller; and sisters, Mildred Beaty and Elizabeth Kimsey.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Blaine L. Lawson of Cleveland; daughters, Becky Calhoun and Lori Lawson both of Cleveland; sisters, Betty Miller Lee and Nancy Miller both of Cleveland; brother-in-law, Charles Kimsey of Dalton, Ga, brother-in-law, Kenneth Lawson and wife Linda of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Kennett of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Taylor and Pastor Ed Eldredge officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
