John “Ed” Carlson, Jr., 91, of Cleveland passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at his home. He was a parishioner at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church. Mr. Carlson was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served in World War II. He was a retired federal employee of the U.S. Government, where he served as a communications officer on Naval ships.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Cassidy Cameron Carlson; parents, John and Lucy Condon Carlson and two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Carlson of Cleveland; many children of choice; several grandchildren of choice and several great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2016 at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church with Father Mike Nolan presiding. Interment will be on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
His family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
