Kathleen R. Murray

Kathleen “Kat” Smith Murray went home to her Heavenly Father, Monday morning, July 4, 2016. She was born on May 5, 1924, and was married to her loving husband, Forrest Murray for 74 years.

She retired from American Uniform as a machine operator after 41 years of dedicated service. Kat will be remembered lovingly and memories will be cherished by her family and friends. All who knew her experienced her loving, kind spirit. She always thought of others first and gave her love, time and energy freely.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Floyd and Florence Smith and her two sisters, Norma Smith and Linda Faw.

She leaves behind Pauline and Joe Hammond, Robbie Tucker, Ivan and Evelene Murray, Jay and Betty Murray, Kenneth Murray, Gus and Sandra Murray, Carolyn and David Beavers, Carl and Barbara Murray, Larry and Brenda Murray, Shirley and Clarence Lowe, along with many special nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2016 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Lake Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

Her family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
