Jane Elizabeth Styke Smith, of Cleveland, went to be with her heavenly Father on Monday, May 30, 2016. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland, TN. Jane was a follower of Christ and served in various churches throughout Tennessee at posts as: WMU, Youth Group Leader and mentor and Youth Chaperone. She was a leader in Cleveland TN’s New Comer’s Club and the Hospital Auxiliary in Savannah, TN. Jane loved to travel, being involved in clubs and baking chocolate pies and cakes for friends and the bereaved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Fulton Styke and Myrtle Avis Sims Styke; brothers, Bill, John, Keith and Edwin Styke; and sisters, Margie Helton, Doris Ball and Joyce Lynn Styke.
Jane met and married her husband, Marshall Wayne Smith, 63 years ago in Morristown, TN. She is also survived by their four children, Barbara Jane (Alton) Rogers and Timothy Wayne (Nancy) Smith, all of Cleveland, Terry Elaine (Fred) McFalls of Savannah, TN and Avis Lynnette (Brian) Martin of Lake Jackson, TX. Jane is also survived by nine grandchildren, Andrew, Adrianne, Lauren, Elizabeth, Christopher, Hunter, Robert, Patrick and Victoria. She is also the great grandmother of Collier, Kirbi, Emery and Austin. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Mary Charles Carson, Alyce Moore and Charlotte Stykes; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2016 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Tom Wickes and the Reverend Rusty Asble officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Andrew McFalls, Christopher Martin, Hunter Martin, Robert Martin, Patrick Martin, Christopher Cowan, Adrienne Cowan and Lauren Watson serving as burial attendants.
Her family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
