Charles “Bill” Brock, 85, of McDonald, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 at a healthcare facility in Ooltewah. He was a member of McDonald United Methodist Church for almost 80 years where he was an active leader in many capacities, including song leader.
Mr. Brock was known as “Mr. Fixit” in his hometown of McDonald and was an accomplished Ham Radio operator. He was retired from Olin Chemical Corporation after 25 years of service and was a veteran of the US Marines.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise “Tootie” Brock; parents, Ray and Ila Bailey Brock, Sr.; brothers, Judge Ray Brock, Jr., Alvin Paul Brock, and Edwin R. Brock; and sisters, Inez McCarter and Gladys Brown.
Survivors include his sister, Charlotte Albritton and husband, Donald of McDonald; brother, Calvin Brock and wife, Barbara of Cleveland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2016 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Mark Barber officiating. Interment will follow in Lee Cemetery with Stacy Bowen, Darrell Thurman, Ralph Brock, Jack Kile, Aaron Schwartz and Jeff Gregory serving as pallbearers. Lee Womac, K.D. Murray, Eddie Harris, and Jack McCarter will serve as honorary pallbearers. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony.
His family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
