Laurel E. McFadden, 92, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016, in a local hospital.
Laurel was an active member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland. He was also an active member of the Paul Jones Memorial Chapter #25 of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a butcher by trade for over fifty years with various grocery stores in the Cleveland area. He was a decorated WWII Veteran and served in the Pacific.
Laurel was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Edna “Bess” McFadden; his first wife, Dorothy Ward McFadden; his step children, Donathan L. Ward and Jonathon P. Ward; grandchildren, Mitch L. Ward, Tammy Ward York and J. Mark Ward.
Survivors include his wife, Isabel Close McFadden; daughters-in-law, Elaine Ward, Nancy Ward and Nancy Sitzler, all of Cleveland; grandchildren, Mike (Shannon) Ward, David Ward and Donna Ward (Jonathan) Cochrane; great grandchildren, Colton Ward, Ian Ward, Jacob Ward and Reagan Cochrane; special extended family members, James Sitzler and son, Allen Sitzler; numerous friends and church family.
The service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Fike- Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Wickes officiating. Interment will take place on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in Johnston Cemetery with military honors concluding the service.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m prior to the service.
