Olaree McAlister Taylor Messer, 84, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday morning, February 18, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving children. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, but attended Chilcutt United Methodist for over 50 years. Olaree retired from Cleveland Tennessee Enamel Plant after 25 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Anna Mae Morgan McAlister; and husband, Calvin Messer.
Survivors include her daughters, Diane (Jerry) Neely and Wanda Wheeler, all of Cleveland; son, Jimmy (Sherry) Taylor of Charleston; the father of her children, James Robert Taylor; seven grandchildren, David “PeeWee” (Angie) Neely, Kelly (Wade) Ledford, Shane (Kelly) Lawson, Adam Taylor, Nick (Melanie) Lawson, Brandon (Laura) Wheeler and Savannah Taylor; and seven great grandchildren, Mallory, Morgan and Madeline Ledford, Layne, Lauryn and Ellissa Lawson and Katie Neely.
The funeral will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2016 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with her grandson, Pastor Shane Lawson officiating. The interment will follow in Union Grove Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.
Her family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
