Bill S. Quinn

August 2, 1931 — January 28, 2016

Bill S. Quinn, 84, of Cleveland, passed away suddenly Thursday, January 28, 2016 at a Chattanooga hospital.  He was born August 2, 1931 to the late C.C. & Frieda Allen Quinn.  Following his graduation from Ooltewah High School he joined the United States Air Force.  After a 38 year career he retired from Bowater as a paper maker.  He was an avid bird hunter, gardener and an all around outdoorsman.  Bill was a charter member of the Bradley Bird Dog Club.  He was one of the original “American Pickers”.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John S. (Pat) Quinn and Calvin C. Quinn.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Robbie Cunnyngham Quinn; daughter, Ginger Q. Pippenger; son, Bob S. Quinn (Jane Easterly); grandson, Nick Q. Pippenger; sister, Phyllis Q. Ellis Barker of Franklin, TN; sister-in-law, Betty C. Huff of Knoxville; and several nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by his many friends and hunting buddies.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.   

His family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday at Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home and on Tuesday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. prior to the graveside service.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Chattanooga, 200 Central Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37403.
