Jack Calvin Snyder, 82, of downtown Ocoee, passed away Friday, November 27, 2015 at a hospital in Sewanee, TN. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Jack retired as a shift supervisor with Bowater Corporation after 40 years of service. He was a native of Ocoee, TN and enjoyed his registered Black Angus beef cattle farm. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dearis B. and Irene Gatlin Snyder.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Edna Ruth Hampton Snyder of Ocoee; children, Ricky C. Snyder and wife, Leea of Georgetown, KY and Mitzi Ruth Dickens and husband, Ray of Ocoee; three grandchildren, Brad Snyder of Shelbyville, KY, Luke Snyder of Lexington, KY and MacKenzie Dickens of Ocoee; two great grandchildren, Levi Snyder and Maddox Snyder; one sister, Imogene Guinn of Ocoee; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Campbell and Pastor Kenzel Hooker officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery with military honors. Brad Snyder, Luke Snyder, Ray Dickens, Albert Howard, Tom Hunt and Ricky Snyder will serve as pallbearers. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony.
His family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00– 8:00 p.m. at Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home.
