Don Bennett, 77, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2015 at his home. He was retired from Bell South Telephone Company and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Don was a member of Clingan Ridge Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Bennett, Sr. and Annie Mae Tucker Bennett; brother, Bobby Bennett; sisters, Glenda Bennett and Marveene Bennett; and son-in-law, Tommy Pendergrass.
Survivors include his spouse of 49 years, Colleen Crowe Bennett of Cleveland; children, Sandra Caldwell and Debbie Pendergrass, both of Cleveland; grandchildren, Chris Pendergrass and wife, Lindsay of Trussville, AL, Christina Milen and husband, John of Old Fort and Josh Caldwell; five great grandchildren, Eli Milen, Ian Milen, Jax Pendergrass, Ben Pendergrass and Lalanie Caldwell; brother, Carl Bennett and wife, Pat of St. Louis, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2015 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Moats and Pastor Collin Cooke officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors. The deacons at Clingan Ridge Baptist will serve as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
His family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00– 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
