Mary Lou Shell

Mary Lou Shell, 90, of Etowah, and formerly of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at her home. She retired from the service department at American Uniform after 30 years of service. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Etowah. Mary Lou was involved in the Etowah Senior Center. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Albert "Buster" Shell, Sr.; parents, Jacob Melton Ashe and Artie Belle Myers Ashe; brothers, Gordon Ashe, Ogle James Ashe, Woodrow Ashe and Curtis Ashe; and sisters, Ilene Morrow, Estella Cleo Brown, Retha Widner and Ruth Ashe. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Shell of Etowah; son, Albert Shell, Jr. and wife, Deena of Cleveland; two grandchildren, Albert J. Shell III of Etowah and Jason Shell of Cleveland; five great grandchildren, Colter Shell, Ryan Shell, Chayden Shell, Cody Shell and Katie Shell; one great great granddaughter, Lillie Madeline Shell; sister, Evelyn Poteet of Etowah; three special nephews, Gordon Ashe, Douglas Ashe and Robbie Ashe; and special niece, Sharon Rose. The funeral will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2015 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Crockett officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.
