Silas R. Mason

Silas R. Mason, 83, a resident of Cleveland passed away Friday, September 11, 2015 at a local healthcare facilty. He was a member of Red Hill United Methodist Church. He was retired from Bowater Corporation after 38 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and had served in the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Kaylor Mason; parents, Richard L. and Annie Mae Stephens Mason; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his sons, Charles Mason and Stan Mason of Cleveland; three grandchildren, Richard Mason, Matthew Mason and Lacey Mason; six great-grandchildren, Brice Mason, Chase Mason, Lilly Mason, Kimberly Mason, Audrey Mason and Blake Mason; one brother, Frank D. Mason of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2015 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Mason and Rev. Terril Littrell officiating. Interment will follow in Red Hill Cemetery. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony.
