Wesley Carl Brooking, 57, of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in a Chattanooga hospital. He was a 1977 graduate of Bradley Central High School and was part of the team that won the state football championship during the 1976 season. Wesley was a member of Red Hill United Methodist Church where he served as a lay leader. He loved boating on the Ocoee and enjoyed doing yard work. He coached football at the Boys & Girls Club for 21 years and was also a former basketball coach at Lake Forest (Trewhitt) Middle School and Waterville Elementary. Wesley was employed with Hagen & Stone out of Kentucky. He loved his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Evelyn Lee Brooking. Survivors include his wife, Pamela Brooking of Cleveland; children, Matthew Brooking and wife, Kayla of San Diego, CA, Jessica Bent and husband, Dale of Chattanooga, Timothy Harris and wife, Sam of Cleveland and Amanda Rogers and husband, Chandler of Cleveland; three grandchildren, Harbor Bent of Chattanooga, Chloe Brooking of San Diego, CA and Aria Harris of Cleveland; sister, Kay Brooking Harris and husband, David of Duson, LA; mother and father-in-law, Joyce Fowler and husband, Bobby of Benton; sister-in-law, Rhonda Sutton of Cleveland; two nieces; and two nephews. The funeral will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2015 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Carolyn Brady officiating.
