Opal Kaylor Miller, 94, of Charleston died Friday, February 13, 2015. She was born January 19, 1921, the daughter of Troy Kaylor and Minnie Thompson Kaylor. She was the oldest living member of Candies Creek Baptist Church and was always very active in many aspects. She graduated with GED in 1994 at the age of 73 and went on to Cleveland State and completed several college classes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rathburn Louis Miller; and her parents, Troy and Minnie Kaylor; three sons-in-law, T.J. Wooden, Jr., John Simmons and Dale Swafford. She is survived by three daughters: Jeanette Brown and husband, Jackie, Sharon Simmons, and Martha Moses and husband, Eddy; grandchildren: Jeff Wooden of Charleston, Penny Farmer and husband, Steve of Knoxville, Dalenna S. Williams of Cleveland, Sonya Lynn and husband, Scott of Cleveland, Grant Pirkle and wife Danielle of Charleston; ten great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2015 at Candies Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Jamie Work and Pastor Eric Geren officiating. Interment will follow in Candies Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Jeff Wooden, Grant Pirkle, Steve Farmer, Scott Lynn, Scottie Lynn and Dr. Steve Williams serving as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Monday at the church prior to the service. A special thanks to her Sunday School Class who were very special and dear to her heart.
