Icie Delia Hughes, 80, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014 in a local healthcare facility. She and her late husband owned and operated Prospect Manufacturing Company. Icie was a member of Mount Olive Church of God. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Hughes; parents, James and Leona Dunn Gates; grandson, Nathan Hughes; brother, Ellis Gates; and sisters, Clemmie Buckner and Eunice Mysinger. Survivors include her children, Geneva Moore and husband, Garry, Dewight Hughes and wife, Debbie, Glenda Wheeler and husband, Junior, Gary Hughes and wife, Mitzi and Tim Hughes and wife, Jeannie, all of Cleveland; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; sister, Ida Turpin and husband, J.B. of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Sears officiating. Interment will follow in the Earls Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. David Moore, Hoyt Wheeler, Toby Hughes, Stephen Hughes, Zachary Hughes and Micah Hughes will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dewight Hughes, Gary Hughes and Tim Hughes.
