Richard A. Cox

Richard A. Cox, 86, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014 in a local hospital. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Olin Chemical Corporation after 20 years of service. Mr. Cox was a member of the Cleveland Masonic Lodge #134 F&AM where he served as a former commander. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was very devoted to his wife and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce A. Cox, Sr. and Carrie Ridge Cox; brothers, Bruce A. Cox, Jr. and Lytle Cox; and sisters, Mildred Ellis and June Nipper. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Anna Cox of Cleveland; children Mary Richardson and husband, Larry of Cleveland and Charlotte Murray of Athens; five grandchildren, Rebecca "Becky" Isom and husband, Jimmy, Bob Murray and wife, Lisa, Dan Murray and wife, Alison, Sara Self and Justin Richardson, all of Cleveland; three great grandchildren, Rachael Isom, Morgan Isom and Jacob Murray; nephew, Frank Ellis and wife, Betty of Cleveland; and sister-in-law, Helen Cooke and her husband, J.D of Cleveland. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pastor Tom Moncrief officiating.
