Vashti C. Breaux, 81, of Cleveland passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014 in a Chattanooga healthcare facility. She attended St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church. She retired from elementary education after teaching for 25 years at North Lee Elementary School. Vashti held membership in several professional teacher organizations and was a graduate of Louisiana State University where she was a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Whitney Breaux; and parents, Jeff and Myra Albritton Carter. She is survived by her daughters, Janice Nicholas and husband, Charles of Cleveland and Angela Ross of Douglasville, GA; grandchildren: Christopher Nicholas and William Nicholas of Cleveland, David Ross and Blake Ross of Douglasville, GA; brothers, Jack Carter and wife Elsie of Many, LA, Paul Carter and wife Audie of Farmerville, LA; sister, Rosa Crane and husband Dale of Pineville, LA; and several nieces and nephews also survive. A Funeral Liturgy Outside of Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 8, 2014 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Father David Carter-great nephew presiding. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Christopher Nicholas, William Nicholas, David Ross, Blake Ross and Charles Nicholas serving as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Sunday and Monday from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
