Joe "Wilburn" Boring, 78, of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the VA Hospital in Nashville. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Joe was a member of Waterville Baptist Church and was a part of the Faithful Workers Sunday School class. He was a salesman in his younger years as well as later in life. Joe will be most remembered as a master custom cabinet maker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Alexander Boring and Mildred Janet Kirkpatrick Boring; sister, Willie Mae Whiteside; and brother, Elmer Boring. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Bernice Bennett Boring of Cleveland; sons, Joey Boring and wife, Karen of Anderson, SC and Jimmy Boring and wife, Christen of Cleveland; daughters, Renee Davis and husband, MSgt (Retired) Doug Davis of Cleveland, Diane McKinney and husband, CMSgt David McKinney of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Kaye Rahn of Cleveland; 15 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Roy Boring of Cleveland; and multiple nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2014 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Allan Lovelace officiating. Interment will follow in Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery with Brad Boring, Greg Boring, Bryan Davis, Doug Davis, Dennis Franks, Jr., David McKinney and Cullas Orr serving as pallbearers. His family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
