Herbert "Herb" C. Geren, 72, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, May 12, 2014 at his home. He was a retired supervisor at the Cleveland Utilities Waste Water Treatment Plant after 32 years of service. Mr. Geren was a member of Elkmont Baptist Church. He loved being with his grandchildren and enjoyed woodworking, fishing and working in his yard. He was preceded in death by his parents, French and Flora Vincent Geren; brother, Ray Geren; and sister, Eleanor Rhinehole. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Pat Geren of Cleveland; children, Edward Geren and wife, Kandy and Pamela Ledford and husband, David, all of Cleveland; mother-in-law, Ruth Fox; 11 grandchildren, Todd Geren, Travis Geren, Eric Geren, Melody Robinson, Chris Ledford, Autumn Monroe, Justin Ledford, Danielle Monroe, Brian Easterly, Patricia Ledford and Bethany Easterly; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Hood officiating. The interment will follow in Candies Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
