Louise D. Wallace was released from this old world of pain and suffering to the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 10, 2014. She was born in Blue Ridge, GA on July 18, 1924. Her parents moved to Cleveland while she was still a very small child. She spent the rest of her life living in Cleveland except during World War II, where she worked in Oak Ridge for the war effort. Louise attended the public schools of Cleveland and was a graduate of Bradley High School, class of 1942. She enjoyed many happy reunions with her classmates while also helping to organize them. She later attended CSCC to further her education. She was a quiet person, not one to do a lot of talking and was an avid reader. Louise was an office worker and worked in several offices in Cleveland and Chattanooga. She retired from American Uniform Company after 38 years of loyal service. She worked in the front office and for 17 years was the head bookkeeper. After she retired, she continued to do office work for 10 more years. She enjoyed traveling, camping, nature and was a great animal lover. She was the kind of person that stayed in the background helping someone. Louise and her husband, Claude were charter members of Maple Street Baptist Church (formerly Rutledge Memorial Baptist Church), but has been a member of Hopewell Baptist Church for several years. The last 12-15 years bad health had kept her from going anywhere. She started the elevator fund at Hopewell Baptist Church in memory of her mother to aid the elderly. She and her husband also started the first bus ministry at the church. They purchased a used school bus which they had reconditioned and donated it to the church to help do the Lord's work. She was preceded in death by her parents, James William Disharoon and Beulah Newberry Disharoon; brother, Bob Disharoon; and nieces, Nancy Sue Disharoon, Sheila Gail Finnell, Linda Finnell Daugherty and Sandra Disharoon. Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, Claude T. Wallace of Cleveland; sister, June Johnson of Cleveland; favorite nephew, Steven Edward Finnell of Oakley, CA; nephews, Dan Disharoon of Ft. Worth, TX and Ronald Disharoon of Oil City, PA; niece, Sherry Ann Finnell of Greenville, TN; two very dear and special friends, the Reverend William M. Walker Jr., and his lovely wife, Jean of Riceville, TN; and many, many friends and cousins. The funeral has been rescheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2014 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend William M. Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery with William Mee, Everett Harris, Robert Wallace, Jr., James Chapman, Dean Fugett and Mike Wallace serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
