Nancy Ellen Reiser, 79, a resident of Cookeville for the past eight years and a former resident of Cleveland for many years, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at her home in Cookeville. She was a parishioner of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church where she was a former R.C.I.A. director and former member of the Parish Council. Nancy was very involved in the religious education program for children. She had a BA degree from the University of Maine and a Master's degree in education from the University of Tennessee. She was a guidance counselor and English teacher at Cleveland High School for 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Matt Reiser; parents, Michael and Elizabeth Gentile; and sister, Mary Lewis. Survivors include her two children, Erich Reiser and wife, Donna of Cookeville and Ellen Reiser of Richmond, VA; two grandchildren, Rutger Reiser and Hannah Reiser, both of Cookeville; three step grandchildren, Isaac Miller and Justin Sancho both of Cookeville and Josiah Miller of Detroit; and one brother, Michael Gentile of Jay, ME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2013 at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church with Father Tom Moser presiding.
