Thomas Harlen Ellis

Thomas Harlen Ellis, 83, of Cleveland passed away Saturday, December 21, 2013 at his home. He was a member of Faith Memorial Church. Mr. Ellis was retired from Duracell after 18 years of service. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruby Fritts Ellis; parents, Asbury Lawrence and Dory Dowdy Ellis; son-in-law, Howard Lee Garrett, Jr.; brother, Gary Ellis and sister, Rene Carden. Survivors include his sons: Nicky (Beverly) Ellis, Ricky (Jennifer) Ellis and Jeff Ellis all of Cleveland; daughters: Shelia (Edward) Cronan of Cohutta, GA and Linda Garrett of Cleveland; grandchildren: Shawn Ellis, Summer Duncan, Season Ellis-Owens, Holly Cheek, Mellisa Gross, Jeffery Dakota Ellis, Baylee Ellis, Rodney Cronan, Tawana Williams, Ellen Brown, Becky Denney, Adam Garrett, and Jessica Garrett; nineteen great-grandchildren; brothers: Albert Ellis, Frank Ellis both of Cleveland and Alvin Ellis of Tellico; and sister, Edith Bullard of Cleveland. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 24, 2013 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Pastor Ed Eldredge officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Shawn Ellis, Adam Garrett, Josh Duncan, Calvin Denney, Duane Owens and Chase Denney serving as pallbearers. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony. His family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
