Marie DeArmond

Marie Grissom DeArmond, 88, of Cleveland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at her home. She was of the Christian faith and attended Central Church of Christ She was preceded in death by her husband, Major Eben A. DeArmond and her parents, B.E. and Blanche Grissom. She is survived by her sons: John G. DeArmond of Tellico Plains and Dr. Eben A. DeArmond, Jr. and his wife, Denise B. DeArmond of Cleveland. She retired after twenty years as an executive secretary for the regional director of the International Union of Operating Engineers in Chattanooga. She and her husband enjoyed fishing together in Tellico. In their later years, they travelled collecting and selling antiques and collectible glass. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 26, 2013 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Fike Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. in Fort Hill Cemetery.
