Mildred Humberd Ball, 96, a resident of Maryville passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013 in a Maryville, TN hospital. She was of the Methodist faith. Mrs. Ball was a native of Bradley County but had lived in Cocoa Beach, FL for 40 years until returning to this area in 2005. She taught elementary school in Bradley County and Cleveland City Schools for a number of years with the last years at Blythe Avenue Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Ball; parents, John Willis and Fanny Hughes Humberd; brother, Milton Humberd; sisters, Dorothy Baker and Jo Ann Humberd. She is survived by her son, Ronnie Ball and wife Linda of Cleveland; daughter, Beverly Stupak and husband Don of Maryville; grandchildren: Scott Stupak of Raleigh, NC, Glenn Stupak and wife Tammy of Beckley, WV, Randy Ball and wife Angie of Benton, Michael Ingram and wife Carol of Athens and Lora Harnack and husband Kirk of Nashville; great-grandchildren: Annalynn Stupak, Boyd Stupak, Evan Ball, Niki Ball, Baylor Ingram, Cason Ingram, Peyton Ingram, Alexandria Ingram, Madelyn McCauley, Michael Harnack and Trey Sartain; sisters: Edna Ruth Cleveland of Sweetwater, Joy McGroom of Tullahoma and Irene Patching of Signal Mountain; sisters-in-law, Ita Ball Lacy, and Kathryn Ball both of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Leroy Elliot officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Springs Cemetery with Stan McGroom, Milton Humberd, Jr., Jerry Baker, Steve Patching, Jimmy Patching and Johnny Cleveland serving as pallbearers. The Ball family nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers. Her family will receive friends from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
