Jack Herbert Crowe, 86, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013 in a Cleveland hospital. Mr. Crowe was born June 2, 1927. He was a World War II Navy Veteran and was a retired carpenter of the Local 2461. As part of his carpentry work, he worked on Watts Bar and Raccoon Mountain. He also helped to build the flume line at the Ocoee. He loved to watch racing, the Cleveland Indians baseball team and the Browns football games. Mr. Crowe was preceded in death by his parents, Lon Crowe and Christine Evans Crowe; and two brothers, Eldon and John Crowe. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Nellie Montgomery Crowe of Cleveland; three sons, Larry Crowe and Jack Crowe Jr. both of Cleveland, and Gary Crowe and wife, Connie of Decatur; one daughter, Nancy Berry of Cleveland; seven grandchildren, Jason Crowe and Tambra Battle of Decatur, Ashley Eaton, Jamie Crowe, Joe Crowe, Russell Berry, and Matthew Berry all of Cleveland; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Crowe of Cleveland and J.B. Crowe of Benton; two sisters, Colleen Bennett and Betty Martin both of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 22, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Caywood officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. His family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 -3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
