Johnny Carl Humphrey

Johnny Carl Humphrey, 75, a resident of Cleveland passed away Friday, May 31, 2013 at his home. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the US Navy and a retired iron worker. Mr. Humphrey was a local farmer and ran his own sawmill. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Ella V. Humphrey who passed away October 17, 2010; parents, Forrest Carl Humphrey, Sr. and Mary Still Humphrey; sisters, Katherine Hurd and Martha Jane Chisenall; brother, Forrest Carl Humphrey, JR; and nephew, Jeff Sellers. Survivors include his sisters: Dorothy Epperson (Mart) of Cleveland and Nancy Humphrey Creasman (Ron) of Raleigh, NC; nieces and nephews: Lisa Armstrong (Eric) and Greg Epperson (Jonna) all of Cleveland, Barry Creasman of Atlanta, GA, and Allison Creasman Marsh (Bob) of Raleigh, NC, Tony Sellers (Dawn) of Jacksonville, FL, Kathy Hawkins of Charleston, SC and David Sellers of Fayetteville, NC. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2013 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Brother Doyle McCracken officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Grove Church of Christ Cemetery with military honors. David Sellers, Greg Epperson, Tony Sellers, Barry Creasman, Christopher Epperson and Don Still will serve as pallbearers. His family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to all of Mr. Humphrey's caregivers.
