Elizabeth Simpson of Cleveland passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, May 16, 2013. Elizabeth was born on April 2, 1922 in Marshall County, TN. She was a beloved teacher at Bradley Central High School for 30 years and an active member of the First United Methodist Church. Elizabeth spent her life caring for family and friends, always putting others before herself. She was an angel on earth. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Eugene Simpson. Survivors include her two daughters: Ann Simpson Wilson of Cleveland and Mary Jean Jewell of Nashville; one son: Clay Simpson of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; one sister: Louise Wherry of Wichita, KS; and several nieces and nephews. Her family would like to say a special thanks to Lilly (Missy) Cox and Fay Maines for the excellent care they provided to Elizabeth. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday at First United Methodist Church, with the Reverends Tim Paul and Tom Seay officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens. Her family will receive friends on Sunday, May 19 at the First United Methodist Church from 6:00-8:00pm.
