Nancy Parks Taylor, 89, a lifelong resident of Cleveland passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013 in a Chattanooga hospital. She was a faithful member of Broad Street United Methodist Church and the Rodgers Sunday School Class. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and a former member of the Cherokee Garden Club, Cleveland/Athens Cotillion and American Cancer Society. Mrs. Taylor was also a member of the Golden Girls and the Mixers Ladies Lunch Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Robert "Bobby" Taylor; parents, Willard Julian and Lucille Matthews Parks; brother, Julian Parks and sister Frances Fillauer. Survivors include her children, Scott Taylor and wife Sharon, and Linda Burns and husband Gerald; grandchildren: Ashley Burns Meagher and husband Jim, Brandon Taylor Burns and wife Maggie, Clinton Robert Taylor, and Thomas Clarke Taylor; great-grandchildren: Burns Meagher, Reece Meagher, Maizie and Emma Gillespie; several nieces and nephews also survive. Special caregivers: Donna and Jack Payton, Kim Thompson, Dorothy King, and caregivers from Helping Hands. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Broad Street United Methodist Church with the Reverends Randy Martin and Debbie Stokes officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Julian Sullivan, Terry Buckner, Steve Harbison, Brandon Burns, Jim Meagher, Keith Fillauer, Jim Parks, Allan Jones, Lamar McKenzie, Dr. Paul Bacon, Clint Taylor and Clarke Taylor serving as pallbearers. The Rodgers Sunday Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. Her family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the church prior to the service.
