Etta Mae White

July 11, 1925 — March 22, 2013

Etta Mae White, 87, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013 at Hixson hospital. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder. She was deeply involved in her Sunday school class, LOGOS, Joy Club and CPW. She was retired from Elastic Yarn where she served as office manager for over 45 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Greer William Curtis and Mabel Gallman Curtis and her husband, Horace White. Survivors include her three children, Etta Faye Ervin and husband, Ray of Benton, Kaye Gatlin and husband, Carl of Cleveland, and Tommy Curtis White and wife, Karen of St. Joseph, MI; eight grandchildren, Teresa Edger, Sarah Miceli, Emily Halcomb, Jonathan White, Mikayla White, Garrick White, Amanda White and Vanessa White. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2013 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Cliff Hudson officiating. Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 25, 2013 in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Pastor John Crabtree officiating. Her family will receive friends from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
